New associate dean positions announced

The University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business recently announced the addition of two associate dean positions to its administrative structure. Now, interim dean Martijn Cremers, who takes over as the Martin J. Gillen Dean as of July 1, is announcing three more changes.

In January, the College named finance teaching professor Walter Clements as the new associate dean of executive education, followed by the announcement of Jim Leady, associate teaching professor of finance, as the associate dean for undergraduate studies as of July 1.

The most recent changes include adding two more associate deanships and elevating an existing position to a senior level.

“The revised administrative structure will provide Mendoza with greater focus and support for five key areas of the College — undergraduate studies, graduate business programs, executive education, specialized degrees, and faculty and research,” said Cremers. “At the same time, the structure also allows for stronger collaboration and knowledge sharing among our various programs to provide our students with the best educational experience.”

The position descriptions are as follows:

Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research, overseeing a wide range of matters related to faculty affairs, teaching, research and University partnership. Ken Kelley, the Edward F. Sorin Society Professor of IT, Analytics, and Operations who has served as associate dean for Faculty and Research since 2016, has agreed to continue in his role. He first joined Mendoza in 2008.

Associate Dean for the MBA Program, focusing on the one-year, two-year and dual-degree MBA programs. Mike Mannor, the John F. O’Shaughnessy Associate Professor of Family Enterprise in the Management & Organization Department, has accepted the role. Mannor, who came to Mendoza in 2008, is an active researcher in the area of executive leadership and organizational learning.

Associate Dean for Specialized Master’s Programs, responsible for the one-year master’s degree programs offered by Graduate Business Programs and Nonprofit Professional Development, including the Master of Science in Management, Master of Science in Accountancy, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and the residential and executive Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA) degree programs. Kristen Collett-Schmitt, formerly director of special projects, and currently associate teaching professor of finance, will serve in this role.

The new positions become effective July 1.
