Paul J. Slaggert has been named the director of the Stayer Center for Executive Education at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
Slaggert, who previously served as the director of Stayer’s non-degree programs, will be responsible for the leadership and administrative oversight of marketing, recruiting, student services, curriculum and operations for all of the executive education programs. These include the graduate degree programs – the Notre Dame Executive MBA in South Bend and Chicago, the Master of Science in Business Analytics, the Master of Science in Finance – as well as non-degree open-enrollment, custom and online programs.
“The Stayer Center has seen much growth in recent years, from the construction of the beautiful building on campus, to expanding our programs and facilities in Chicago,” said Roger D. Huang, Martin J. Gillen Dean of the Mendoza College of Business. “I’m confident that under Paul’s leadership, we will continue to strongly pursue the kind of values-centered educational experience that is the hallmark of the Mendoza College of Business.”
In addition to directing non-degree programs, Slaggert led training sessions for corporate clients on the topics of leadership, paradigm shifts, delegation and empowerment, systems thinking and financial literacy. He also designed a unique learning tool to facilitate the understanding of accounting and finance at all levels of a company.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead Executive Education in these challenging times,” said Slaggert. “There is a great need for leaders in the world today. I believe we have a unique opportunity to develop executives who understand the impact that values have on their ability to lead and a desire to make a difference in their own organizations and beyond.”
Prior to joining Notre Dame in 2001, Slaggert was the director of the Cincinnati Center for Management and Executive Development in the College of Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati for 12 years. He holds a BBA in management from Notre Dame and an MBA in finance from Boston College.
Founded in 1980, the Stayer Center for Executive Education provides leaders in the executive and management ranks the opportunity to develop and strengthen their leadership abilities and business acumen skills through both degree and non-degree programs. In keeping with the Notre Dame mission, the program emphasizes values-based transformational leadership in addition to academic rigor.
More than 2,500 company presidents, executives and directors, have participated in the Stayer Center for Executive Education’s signature Executive Integral Leadership program, which incorporates spiritual and ethical strengths, as well as other personal dimensions into leadership development.
